Cassidy Macdonald is a connoisseur of the written word. Her first words were a sentence—Got a book— faithfully recorded by her mother. Cassidy has explored that sentence in her education—from the schools and libraries of the Midwestern U.S. to the medieval spires of Oxford where she studied English literature. Hearing people's stories in her travels and life overseas, has fine-tuned her ear and confirmed her belief that listening is the key to understanding everyone.

A Sense of Human, her book on the Mexican sculptor Victor Salmones, entailed researching the artist and the history of sculpture, collecting photographs and interviewing his collectors. Translating themes and motifs into compelling language is one of her skills supported by her degrees in, and teaching of, English language and literature as well as her work as a proofreader. One of her short stories published in Thema, a literary journal, about climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro with some of her relatives was written to record that adventure as the best gift she might give her family.

In writing books and stories and in analyzing the process, Cassidy agrees with Alexander Pope's observation that, "our heads are libraries out of order." Let her sort your stacks, dust your shelves and help you find your book.
